Types and application cases of Carrara white marble elements
The Carrara Mine in Carrara City, Massa-Carrara Province, Italy, which is a bit confusing to read, is the world's largest white marble mine. Among the more common Carrara varieties are Carrara White, Grand White, Snowflake White and Calacatta White.

Carrara White, this name is sometimes used as a general term for Carrara marble elements. In other words, all white marble elements of the Carrara system can be called Carrara White.
The Carrara white we often call has evenly distributed light gray silk patterns, the pattern color is relatively light, and there are clear lines and fine grain distribution.

Carrara white is the ancestor of Carrara white marble. Ancient artists used it to create artistic sculptures. All other whites are derived from Carrara white. Because the pattern of Carrara white is relatively elegant, it is the most widely used in architectural interior design.

Snowflake white, large white, medium white, fine white, these white marble elements are easy to confuse people. In fact, they are just different patterns and colors. Of course, there is also a distinction between whiteness and brightness in stone, because the whiter the better for white marble, while ceramic tiles and artificial stone are generally directly designed to be very white.
Let’s start with the most famous white snowflake. The pattern of snowflake white is more prominent. There are many kinds of patterns, such as spots, stripes, lines or directional meshes. The texture will run across the board surface. In theory, the more visually impactful snowflake white is, the more valuable it will be.

The names of medium white and fine white seem to be related to large white, but they are closer to snowflake white. To understand simply, the white pattern in the middle is better than snowflakes.The white is smaller, while the fine white is smaller, basically lines, similar to Carrara white.

Calacatta white, also called fish belly white on the market, can be understood as a special type of snowflake white, because they come from the same pit.
The pattern style of Calacatta White is similar to that of Snowflake White. Its pattern color is lighter, and the texture is relatively concentrated and stable. It is not as messy as Snowflake White. Some of the patterns also have a little gold, and the background color is not so bright. From the perspective of the stone market, Calacatta White is more expensive than Snowflake White of the same grade.
